What is Lavender Essential Oil used for?

One of the most popular oils in aromatherapy, lavender oil has a heavenly aroma that has made it renowned for relieving stress and calming the nerves. Lavender essential oil, however, has more uses than just in aromatherapy. Its many properties include being analgesic, antifungal, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and a disinfectant making it useful for all sorts of beauty care.

Lavender Essential Oil and acne

Lavender oil effectively heals acne and other skin inflammations including eczema. It helps relieve itchiness and dry skin as well. It is a powerful moisturizer, helping decongest irritated areas on the skin and speeding up the healing process and reducing redness, scarring, and blotchiness. Being a potent source of antioxidants and other phytochemicals that fight free radical damage which is caused by environmental stressors like pollution and sun exposure, lavender oil additionally helps protect against wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, and pigmentation. These combined properties also make it useful to repair the delicate under eye area.

Lavender oil also has detoxifying properties. It contains powerful antioxidants that nourish the skin and suck out sebum and toxins from deep within the pores of the skin. It also has great toning properties. It helps boost circulation and increases the supply of oxygen and nutrition to the skin cells. This helps not only firm up your skin and tighten your pores, it also ensures good cell health and boosts cell regeneration and renewal. Overall regular use of lavender ensures bright, healthy, supple, and soft skin.

Lavender Essential oil and your scalp

Lavender oil is also great for scalp health. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it a great oil to fight dandruff and other itchy scalp conditions. It also combats bacterial and fungal infections ensuring overall better scalp health. It also helps minimize hair loss. It improves blood circulation to the scalp, strengthens the hair shaft, and promotes hair growth by stimulating hair follicles. Lavender oil works wonderfully as a hair conditioner as well, ensuring soft and more manageable hair.

These many wonderful properties of this potent botanical oil make it a perfect ingredient in many beauty care products.
